The God And Goddess

Again, with the following, there are Wiccans who believe other things, but this is what I believe... with respect take what you will and leave the rest...

Who is the God?

The God is the Enforcer of the Goddess's Laws and the Goddess's Consort. He is the sun and the seasons.. Being born, dying, and being reborn in a constant cycle. He is the Divine Child, the Goddess's son who becomes her equal partner. He is the forest, the clear blue sky, and the soil beneath our feet.

The God has many forms. He takes on the many aspects, all which symbolize human emotion. These forms include the Lord of the Forest, the Father, the Healer, the Trickster, the Lord of Judgement, the Warrior, the Magician, the Savior, and the Lord of the Underworld. As the Lord of the Forest, he is the guardian of all living things. As the Father, he the nurturing caretaker. As the Healer, he brings health and prosperity back to Earth. As the Trickster, he is carefree and full of laughter. As the Lord of Judgement, he is the one who gives to people what they deserve (good or bad). As the Warrior, he is the Hero who fights for freedom and justice. As the Magician, he is the wise man who can help you discover great knowledge. As the Savior, he has a large impact on the world and its inhabitants... giving them new hope. As the Lord of the Underworld, he is the escort into the next life.

The Charge of the God

Listen to the words of the Great Father, who of old was called Osiris, Adonis, Zeus, Thor, Pan, Cernunnos, Herne, Lugh, and by many other names:

"My Law is Harmony with all things. Mine is the secret that opens the gates of life and mine is the dish of salt of the earth that is the body of Cernunnos, that is the eternal circle of rebirth . I give the knowledge of life everlasting , and beyond death I give the promise of regeneration and renewal . I am the sacrifice , the father of all things , and my protection blankets the earth."

Hear the words of the dancing God , the music of whose laughter stirs the winds , whose voice calls the seasons :

"I who am the Lord of the Hunt and the Power of the Light , Sun among the Clouds and Secret of the Flame , I call upon your bodies to arise and come unto me . For I am the flesh of the earth and all it's beings . Through me all things must die and with me are reborn . Let my worship be in the body that sings , for behold all acts of willing sacrifice are my rituals . Let there be desire and fear , anger and weakness, joy and peace, awe and longing within you . For these too are a part of the mysteries found within yourself , within me , all beginnings have endings, and all endings have beginnings ."

The Charge of the Horned God

Listen to the words of the Horned God , who is son , brother , lover , and consort of the Lady :

"I am the fleet deer in the forest , I am the beach which receives the waves , I am the sun which warms the earth. I am the Lord of the Spiral Dance of Life , Death and Rebirth , the Gentle Reaper , the Winter Stag and the Spring Fawn. All things are of me , for I am of the Goddess , opposite , yet not opposing. I bring forth from the womb that is a tomb , for i am the seed which fertilizes . I am abundant Life for I am the grain that grows , am I death - the harvest in the Fall. And I am rebirth after darkness , for i am the seed that springs forth anew ."

"I am Fertility, the Spreader of life , and i am the Lord of Death , which adds value to life ."

"I am the Guardian of the Gate Between Life and Death . I am the King of the Underworld , where no living being may venture , but I am also the King of Rebirth , who makes of the tomb a womb ."

"I bring love and strength , peace and passion , hope and joy , for I am the Gentle Lover in the night ."

"I am the herald of All that comes from the Great Mother , the Divine Star Goddess , who is Mother of us all ."

The Charge of the Guardian Horned God

Listen to the words of the Horned God , the Guardian of All things Wild and Free , and Keeper of the Gates of Death , whose Call all must answer :

"I am the fire within your heart , the yearning of your Soul . I am the Hunter of Knowledge and the Seeker of the Holy Quest ; I who stands in the darkness of light ; I am He whom you have called Death . I the Consort and Mate of Her we adore , call forth to thee ."

"Heed my call beloved ones , come unto me and learn the secrets of death and peace . I am the corn at harvest and the fruit on the trees . I am He who leads you home . Scourge and Flame , Blade and Blood these are mine and gifts to thee ."

"Call unto me in the forest wild and on hilltop bare and seek me in the darkness bright . I who have been called Pan, Herne, Osiris, and Hades speak to thee in thy search . Come dance and sing ; come live and smile , for behold : this is my worship ."

"You are my children and I am your Father . On swift night wings it is I who lay you at our Mother's feet to be reborn and to return again . Thou who thinks to seek me , know that I am the untamed wind , the fury of storm and passion in your Soul . Seek me with pride and humility , but seek me best with love and strength . who was of old called Iakchos, Donn, Anubis, Hades, Setesh, Hoder and by many other names:

I am the shadow in the bright day, I am the reminder of mortality at the height of living.

I am the neverending veil of Night where the Star Goddess dances.

I am the Death that must be so that Life may continue, for behold, Life is immortal because the living must die.

I am the strength that protects, that limits; I am the power that says No, and No Further, and That is Enough.

I am the things that cannot be spoken of, and I am the laughter at the edge of Death.

Come with me into the warm enfolding dark; feel my caresses in the hands, in the mouth,

in the body of one you love, and be transformed.

Gather in the moonless night and speak in unknown tongues; the Dark Mother and I will listen.

Sing to us and cry out, and the Power will be yours to wield.

Blow me a kiss when the sky is dark and I will smile, but no kiss returns; for my kiss is the final one for all mortal flesh.

The Goddess

Who is the Goddess?

The Goddess is the Mother Earth and the Creatress of the Universe. She is the moon and the cycles of life, as all woman have a cycle in which is the bringer of life. She is the light, the darkness, and everything in between. She is the mountians, the oceans, and the stars in the sky.

The Goddess is a triune being, meaning she has three forms. These forms are known as the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. As the Maiden she is the waxing moon. Other names for her are the Virgin or the Huntress. She is spring, the time of fresh beginnings for all living things. She is the repeating cycles of birth and rebirth, both of the spirit and of the body. The Maiden is the dawn, eternal youth, enchantment, and seduction. Her color is traditionally white, which represents innocence or newness. As the Mother she is the full moon. Other names for her are the Great Teacher or the Creatress. She is summer, the time of ripening of all living things. She is re-creation of life and the creation of universal bodies.She is the high point, or peak, of all cycles. The Mother is the day, lustiness, adulthood/motherhood, and reproduction. Her color is traditionally red, which represents blood or the life force. And as the Crone she is the waning moon. Other names for her are the Terrible Mother, the Hag, the Dark Mother, or the Wise One. She is Winter, the time of death or the end of all cycles. She is the darkness, where all life rests before rebirth. The Crone is the night, the abyss, menopause, advancement of age, wisdom, the gateway to death, and reincarnation. Her colors are black and dark blue, which represents darkness or the absorber of all light.

Listen to the words of the Great Mother ; She who of old was also called among men Artemis , Astrate , Athene , Dione , Melusine , Aphrodite , Cerriden , Dana , Arianrod , Isis , Brid and by many other names :

"Whenever ye have need of anything , once in the month , and better it be when the moon is full , then shall ye assemble in some secret place and adore the spirit of me , who am Queen of all witches . There shall ye assemble , ye who are fain to learn all sorcery , yet have not won it's deepest secrets ; to these will I teach things that are yet unknown . An ye shall be free from slavery ; and as a sign that ye really be free , ye shall be naked in your rites ; and ye shall dance , sing , feast , make music and love , all in my praise . For mine is the ecstasy of the spirit , and mine also is joy on earth ; for my law is love unto all beings . Keep pure your highest ideal ; strive ever towards it ; let naught stop you or turn you aside . For mine is the secret door which opens upon the land of youth and mine is the cup of wine of life , and the cauldron of Cerridwen , which is the Holy Grail of immortality . I am the gracious Goddess , who gives the gift of joy unto the heart of man . Upon earth , I give the knowledge of the spirit eternal ; and beyond death , I give peace and freedom , and reunion with those who have gone before. Nor do I demand sacrifice ; for behold , I am the mother of all living , and my love is poured out upon the earth."

The Charge of the Star Goddess

Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess ; she in the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven , and whose body encircles the universe.

"I who am the beauty of the green earth , and the white moon among the stars , and the mystery of the waters , and the desire of the heart of man , call unto thy soul . Arise and come unto me . For I am the soul of nature , who gives life to the universe . From me all things preceed , and unto me all things must return ; and before my face , beloved of gods and of all men , let thine innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite. Let my worship be within the heart that rejoiceth ; for behold , all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals . And therefore let there be beauty and strength , power and compassion , honour and humility , mirth and reverence within you . And thou knowest the mystery ; that if that which thou seekest thou finest not within thee , then thou wilt never find it without thee . For behold , I have been with thee from the beginning ; and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

Charge Of The Dark Goddess

Wisdom and empowerment are the gifts of the Dark Goddess of Transformation

She is known to us as Kali, Hecate, Cerridwen, Lilith, Persephone, Fata, Morgana

Ereshkigal, Arianhrod, Durga, Inanna, Tiamat, and by a million, million other names.

Hear me child, and know Me for who I am. I have been with you since you were born,

and I will stay with you until you return to Me at the final dusk.

I am the passionate and seductive lover who inspires the poet to dream.

I am the One who calls to you at the end of your journey. After the day is done,

My children find their blessed rest in my embrace.

I am the womb from which all things are born.

I am the shadowy, still tomb; all things must come to Me and bare their breasts to

die and be reborn to the Whole.

I am the Sorceress that will not be ruled, the Weaver of Time, the Teacher of Mysteries

I snip the threads that bring children home to me. I slit the throats of the cruel and

drink the blood of the heartless. Swallow your fear and come to me, and you will discover

true beauty, strength and courage.

I am the fury which rips the flesh from injustice.

I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of power. Open yourself

to my embrace and overcome.

I am the glinting sword that protects you from harm.

I am the crucible in which all the aspects of yourself merge together in a rainbow of union

I am the velvet depths of the night sky, and swirling mists of midnight, shrouded in mystery.

I am the chrysalis in which you face that which terrifies you and from which you will

blossom forth, vibrant and renewed. Seek me at the crossroads, and you shall be transformed

for once you look upon my face, there is no return.

I am the fire that kisses the shackles away

I am the cauldron in which all opposites grow to know one another in Truth.

I am the web which connects all things

I am the Healer of all wounds, the Warrior who rights all wrongs in their Time. I make the

weak strong. I make the arrogant humble. I raise up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised

I am Justice tempered with Mercy. Most importantly child, I am you. I am part of you, and

I am within you. Seek me within and without, and you will be strong.

Know me. Venture into the dark so that you many awaken to Balance, Illumination, and

Wholeness. Take my Love with you everywhere and find the Power within to be who you wish.
